And so Melissa Joan Hart, star of ABC's Sabrina the Teenage Witch, will participate in a national bike helmet safety campaign to reduce injuries to kids.
Bike crashes kill 900 people a year and send another 567,000 to emergency rooms. Helmets can reduce the risk of head injury by 85 percent.
Despite these figures, surveys show that more than 50 percent of bikers do not wear helmets.
The safety campaign is organized by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and McDonald's Corp.
