DATELINE: NEW YORK

Up-and-comers Adrian Grenier and Kris Park are sliding beside star Melissa Joan Hart for John Schultz's "Next to You."

Schultz is directing the teen comedy, formerly titled "Girl Gives Birth to Prom Date." Rob Thomas, a writer for the WB's teen hit "Dawson's Creek," penned the script from a novel by Todd Strasser. Amy Robinson is producing the film, which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Salt Lake City this month.

The film focuses on Hart (ABC's "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch") and her next-door neighbor (Grenier), who grew up together but never developed romantic feelings for each other until gathering for their high school's centennial celebration. Park will play Grenier's best friend.

Grenier is repped by Philip Carlson at J. Michael Bloom & Associates. His credits include Woody Allen's upcoming "Celebrity" and the indie films "Arresting Gena" and "The Adventures of Sebastian Cole."

Park's film credits include "I Love You, I Love You Not" with Claire Danes, "Harvest" with Mary McCormack and "Camp Stories" with Jerry Stiller. He is repped by the Gersh Agency.
