Melissa Joan Hart Makes Her Directorial Debut This Week As She Helms An Episode Of ABC's "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch"

Melissa Joan Hart, star of ABC's bewitching coming-of-age comedy, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," will make her directorial debut this week on "Sabrina." After starring in the show for its first three seasons, Ms. Hart expands her talents in the fourth season to include the behind-the-camera work of directing the episode, "Super Hero." Ms. Hart will both star in and direct the episode.

This season, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" welcomed Anson Williams from "Happy Days" as a special guest director. His episode, "Sabrina Nipping at Your Nose," will air as the holiday episode on Friday, Dec. 17. Also slated to direct an upcoming episode is Mr. Williams' former "Happy Days" colleague, Henry Winkler. Mr. Winkler christens the new millennium with his episode, which will tape during the week of Jan. 24, 2000.

Based on the popular Archie Comics heroine, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" looks at the adventures of a modern-day sorcerer's apprentice, who lives with her two eccentric aunts. The series stars Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina, Caroline Rhea as Aunt Hilda, Beth Broderick as Aunt Zelda, Nate Richert as Harvey, Nick Bakay as the voice of Salem, Martin Mull as Mr. Kraft, David Lascher as Josh, China Shavers as Dreama and Jon Huertas as Brad.

Paula Hart and Miriam Trogdon are executive producers of the series. Ken Koch is the producer and Sheldon Bull is the consulting producer. "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," which premiered Sept. 27, 1996, is produced by Hartbreak Films in association with Viacom Productions.
